Scottish Ferries Review
SPT welcomes the chance to contribute to the Scottish Ferries Review to help shape future policy, including service provision and fares.

The Scottish Ferries Review was initiated by the Scottish Government in June 2008 and, once completed, will provide comprehensive information to be used as part of a long term Scottish Ferries Strategy to the year 2022. This strategy will influence the next round of tendering for Clyde and Hebridean routes services the contract for which will start in October 2013.
The SPT area includes key ports of the mainland which link to towns and ferry ports in Argyll and Bute as well as to the islands of Arran and Cumbrae within North Ayrshire.
There are around 3.75 million passenger ferry trips each year which start, finish, or are internal to the SPT area and this represents approximately 40% of all ferry patronage in the whole of Scotland.
SPT's involvement in the on-going Review is as follows:
- membership of the Review Steering Committee;
- membership of the Local Authorities Sub-Group;
- contribution of appropriate information.
SPT, in partnership with Local Authority and RTP Partners, also serves on the Clyde Ferry User's Group. View the minutes of the meetings of the Clyde Ferry User's Group (opens a new window).
