Submitting a filming request

This page contains instructions on submitting a filming or photography request to SPT.

  • Open and closed text imagesBefore submitting a request
  • If you wish to use our premises for filming, broadcasting, photography or as a venue for an event, you may submit your request using our internet request form.

Before completing the request form, please read this set of instructions. Please also make sure you have read the frequently asked questions (FAQs) and general requirements before you apply.

The request form is in downloadable PDF format, and is not an interactive online form. That means that once you have completed the request form it is not automatically submitted to SPT. Instead, you must attach it to an e-mail along with any other required documents, such as your Method Statement and Script Treatment, and send it to our Communications team at film.requests@spt.co.uk.

If you have any queries before submitting a request, please contact us at film.requests@spt.co.uk and a member of our Communications team will respond as soon as possible.

If you are unable to submit your request electronically, please e-mail us at film.requests@spt.co.uk with a contact phone number. We will call you back to discuss other options for submitting your request.

  • Open and closed text imagesHow to submit a request
  • Step 1: Click here to download a request form in Adobe pdf format (opens a new window). This will open up a blank form in Adobe Reader. Complete the request form giving all the necessary details about your event. You must have Adobe Reader 6.02 or higher to complete the form online.

Step 2: Once you have finished filling in the form, click on "Submit by Email" at the bottom of the form.

Step 3: Once you hit the "Submit by Email" button at the bottom of the form, you will be given options to choose how you want to e-mail your form to SPT. The form itself will not be sent to us, but Adobe will create a data file from the information you enter onto the form. This is what will be sent to us via your e-mail.

Step 4: A window will appear offering you three options for e-mailing your data file to SPT:

  • Open and closed text imagesSubmitting your form via desktop application
  • If you choose to send the form via a desk top e-mail application, such as Microsoft Outlook, select that option and click "Ok".

The request form cannot be saved, so if you want to keep a copy for yourself you should click on "Print form" in the next window that appears.

Once you have printed your form, click on "Send Data File".

An e-mail addressed to our Communications Department will automatically open on your screen with your data attached. All you need to do now is attach any other documents we require and then hit "Send".

Your request will be sent directly to our Communications team and you will receive confirmation that we have received it by e-mail immediately. Once you have received our confirmation e-mail you can close the form and discard the data on your screen.

  • Open and closed text imagesSubmitting your request by other means
  • If you do not have desktop e-mail the process for submitting a request is a little different. In the window that appears once you have hit "Submit by Email", choose either "Internet e-mail" or "Other". Both options take you to a new window that instructs you how to e-mail the form to us.

First, you need to click on "Save Data File" and save your data in a convenient place on your computer.

Next, open your e-mail application and create a new e-mail.

Address your e-mail to film.requests@spt.co.uk and type "Completed filming/event request form" in the subject line.

Attach the data file you just saved to the e-mail along with other required documents such as Method Statement and Script Treatment.

Once you have attached the required files, click on "Send".

Your request will be sent directly to our Communications team, and you will receive confirmation that we have received it by e-mail immediately.

Once you have received our confirmation e-mail you can close the form and discard the data on your screen.

As you cannot save a copy of your completed form, if you want to keep a copy you should click on the "Print Form" option before closing the window.
