SPT operates Glasgow's Subway, Buchanan, East Kilbride, Hamilton and Silverburn bus stations. Our permission is needed to film at these premises, photograph them, broadcast from them or use them as a venue for events.

We regularly receive requests from film-makers and broadcasters to use our premises as locations. We are happy to help with these requests but our main role is to provide public transport and the needs of our passengers come first.

This website provides you with all the information you need to apply to use our premises. It contains an application form, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and a set of general requirements that all applicants must satisfy before permission to use an SPT site can be granted. We reserve the right to refuse permission.

Please bear in mind that if you wish to film related services you may need to contact the relevant transport operators.

Safety is a key concern for us, so film-makers, broadcasters and those who wish to use our premises for events have to comply with certain requirements before they can access the Subway or the bus stations we run.

Anyone who wishes to use our premises for filming, broadcasting or events must have a minimum of £2m in public liability insurance and £5m in employers' liability insurance. We also require details of the proposed project. You must provide us with a risk assessment and method statement. We must be satisfied that all risks have been considered and that measures have been taken to control them.

You must submit your request at least 28 days before the date that you need to be on location. Requests for filming news items may be considered at shorter notice at our discretion. Complex projects may take longer to assess so you should submit your request as early as possible.

Transport is our core business and we must recover the administrative and staff costs involved in dealing with requests to use our premises. We charge a facility fee which is dependent on the requirements of the proposed filming. We will send you an estimate once we've assessed your application.

If you wish to use our premises for filming, broadcasting, photography or as a venue for an event, you should submit your request using our internet request form.

Once you have completed the form and hit the "Submit by e-mail" button, the information you have entered will be converted into a Data File which must be attached to an e-mail and sent to our Communications team in order to complete your request. Please follow the instructions provided before submitting the form.

When filling in the form you will be asked for your business details, the dates, times and reason you wish to use SPT premises. Once you have submitted your request a member of our Communications team will be in touch to discuss it with you in more detail.

NB: For filming requests, please make sure you attach your Method Statement and Script Treatment to the e-mail with your request form, as requests cannot be considered without these documents.

The Communications team deals directly with filming requests from the news media for images to illustrate breaking stories which are received at short notice. These requests should be directed to 0141 333 3282. If permission for filming is granted, a member of the Communications team will accompany the film crew and supervise them on location.
